About Pack-Tainers
Pack-Tainers, established in 1978, is a privately owned family business located in both Melbourne and Sydney.
The company provides services to the Australian Wool Industry and principal activity is the handling and dumping of wool for export.
Wool dumping is the process of mechanically reducing farm size bales of wool to around one third of their normal volume before packing into a container for overseas export.
With the “Tyranny of Distance” being a major obstacle in the marketing of Australian Wool, the dumping of the farm bales enables the container payload to be increased from around 6 tonnes to the legal weight capacity of 21.5 tonnes. In bale numbers, dumping effectively increases the payload from 45 undumped bales up to 120 dumped bales per TEU.
